Fallout: London – Fan made, unique experience
Fallout: One of our Favorite PC Games
When it comes to gaming franchises, one of the industry hitters is Fallout. I remember the first time picking up Fallout 3 in 2008 for my gaming pc and being blown away with how great that game was. Still to this day, it is one of my favorites. I just wish it was more optimized for current gaming PC hardware. Fast-forward to the latest installment on the single player front, Fallout 4, released in 2015 has seen great mod support from overhauls to fan created DLC’s, such as the one we are discussing today.
While we haven’t had a Fallout experience in some time (no I am not counting Fallout 76 and its disastrous attempt of what could have been amazing), there is something on the horizon that looks very promising and is fan made – seeing as they stated that the next Fallout installment is due after Elder Scrolls VI, so sometime in 2050. I am talking about Fallout: London.
Based off the vanilla Fallout 4 and all the DLC’s, Fallout: London is aiming to bring a new standalone experience set roughly 50 years before the events of Fallout 4. This DLC-sized mod aims to bring the area of London to the Fallout universe. It does state on the website that this will be a very condensed version of London, but it is something unique and ambitious. You can google Fallout London and look at the images to see A LOT of concept art for the project.
They have already started releasing mods that will tie in with the DLC when it releases sometime in 2023. They have also explained some things in regard to what to expect, and it is a unique concept. A very interesting one is that Vault-Tech will NOT be present as that is an American company that is not affiliated with other countries, instead they will be introducing their own version of Vault-Tech. Alongside the information we have, the team has spoken about factions, and you can read a post on their website about the factions that they will be introducing!
It has been recently reported that Bethesda has hired another member of the team behind Fallout London. It hasn’t been made clear if this will affect the development of the mod, or not, but nonetheless this is awesome news. It really brings a smile to my face to see big game developers pick up members from the PC modding community, as they add so much to games post-launch. While this project is a way out, it is certainly looking like it will be a great mod to add to your collection. Seeing as Bethesda only added one big time expansion, this is going to be huge for Fallout 4 while we wait an eternity for Fallout 5. Be sure to check out the trailer released by the team here!
