Lately, it seems that Intel has taken the crown as one of the most preferred providers for chipsets and processor when end-users are deciding upon a system. This time around, we have a customer that decided to use the AMD 990X chipset in conjunction with the Zambezi FX-8120 AMD processor. It’s refreshing to see someone step over to the other side for a change, considering there’s absolutely nothing wrong with AMD solutions. There’s no point in nickel and diming AMD and Intel comparisons. If someone feels more comfortable using one over the other then so be it; chances you, as the customer, will be using the system extensively so you might as well be within your element. A 4.0Ghz processor, 8Gb of RAM, and HD 6770 graphics card are all great ways to create a fast desktop. Judging by the hard drive choice, the end-user is more concerned with data storage and standard day-to-day tasks than bleeding edge performance, and that’s okay. That’s a great reason to choose an AMD system, for the price, and we full support the customer’s decision.
